June - Tchaikovsky
The full version of June by Tchaikovsky from The Seasons! This piece has been one of my favorites to learn and I plan on playing it for my piano jury once a few areas are polished up. I picked this piece because the first time I sight read it, I fell in love with the ominous, melancholy, atmosphere of the piece. The bass line reminds me of rolling ocean waves, and the right hand melody feels very cloudy. In my book, there is a short poem/quote above the piece below the title. It reads, “Let us go to the shore; there the waves will kiss our legs. With mysterious sadness the stars will shine down in us.” - A. Pleshcheyer
